Obituary:  Sheila Olivia (Jobe) Kennedy - Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK

OCTOBER 11, 1944 ~ FEBRUARY 14, 2016 (AGE 71)

Sheila Olivia (Jobe) Kennedy, 71 year old Grove, OK resident passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016. Sheila was born on October 11, 1944, in Hayward, CA, to Leo and Edna (Diggs) Jobe. She owned and operated assisted living facilities and was the landlord for rental properties. Sheila attended Pacific Christian Academy and graduated from Montgomery High School. She married Robert S. Kennedy on January 22, 1979 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death. Sheila loved to travel. She enjoyed going to the lake with family, riding the inner tube, and water skiing. Her and Bob loved going to church and listening to Christian music. Most of all, she loved her family unconditionally. She was selfless and kindhearted. Everyone loved her, even after just meeting her. Her eyes were filled with kindness and love. Her heart was big enough for everyone. Grandma Edna, Sheila's mom, always said there are no steps in our family. A visitation will be held, Wednesday, February 17, 2016, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, OK.

JUNE 7, 1926 ~ DECEMBER 13, 2014 (AGE 88)

Robert (Bob) Sherman Kennedy entered his eternal home on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the age of 88. Bob was born on June 7, 1926 in Afton, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Ross and Eva Kennedy. Bob married Joyce Halliburton on January 1, 1949, living in Tulsa and working at Sinclair Oil Company at that time. In 1967, he bought Reardon's Dry Goods Store in Jay, Oklahoma which was changed to Kennedy's Food Market. In 1977, he moved to Tulsa working for Affiliated Food Stores as a buyer. In 1978, Bob married Sheila Jobe. They owned and operated the Welcome Inn in Grove, Oklahoma and later built the Kennedy Home Place in Grove. Bob's interests were gardening, water activities, woodworking, and family get togethers. Bob is survived by his wife Sheila Kennedy, four daughters and spouses, Shelli and Mitchell Earp, Sherri and Jeff Taylor, Jill and Nate Long and Pam Kennedy Watts; two sons and spouses, Robert and Dena Kennedy and John and Kay Kennedy. Also surviving are grandchildren, Matthew Buzzard, Toby Buzzard, Michael Hudgens, Kimberly Summerfield, Cassi Graham, Keller Kennedy, Chelsee Bacon, Chance Long, Holly Kennedy, Heather Kennedy, Hannah Kennedy and thirteen great grandchildren along with six nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Coleman Kennedy and Montworth Kennedy, a sister, Eloise Snoddy, son-in-law Steve Watts and a grandson, Jeremy Graham. Services are being held at the Delaware Baptist Church on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 10:00 am with Rev. Jessie (Junior) Jones presiding. Pallbearers for Bob include Matthew Buzzard, Toby Buzzard, Michael Hudgens, Mitchell Earp, Jeff Taylor, Brian Meek, and Chance Long. Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Bacon, George Loveless, Nate Long, Don Kennedy and Jack Kennedy. The family will greet friends on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma.
