Obituary: Bill Elvin Trenary - Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK

AUGUST 12, 1933 ~ JUNE 9, 2007 (AGE 73)

Bill Elvin Trenary, age 73, passed away June 9, 2007, after a valiant battle with cancer. A life-long Grove resident, Bill was born August 12, 1933, in Grove, Oklahoma. He graduated from Grove High School in 1954. While in school, Bill became known throughout the area for his athletic ability; whether football, basketball, or baseball. He was even invited to try out for the St. Louis Cardinals. Upon graduation, Bill enlisted in the United States Army and served one tour in Germany before coming back home and starting his career with the Northeast Oklahoma Rural Electric Cooperative. Bill began his career with TEC as a lineman and when he retired, some 36 years later, he was the area supervisor. He is remembered by former co-workers for his hard work, leadership and dedication. Bill married the love of his life, Linda Sue Lewis, and the couple raised their two children here in Grove. It is as a couple that most of us will remember Bill. It was never just Bill, it was always, "Bill and Linda". After Bill retired, Linda put him to work with her at L.A Fashions, here in Grove. She gave him the title, "President in Charge of Shipping and Receiving and Other Duties as Assigned". A title he certainly lived up to, and then some! Bill and Linda worked side by side n that store and made literally hundreds of friends from all over the country. Bill is survived by his wife, Linda, daughter Gayla Corporon and Grandson, Travis Corporon, and his mother Frannie, who is 99 years old. They all live her in Grove. He is also survived by his brother G.W. Trenary, of Miami Oklahoma, and Sister Burhlene Trotter of Tulsa Oklahoma. Preceding Bill in death was his son, Brent Trenary, Father, Burhl Trenary, and Sister Joan Kellenberger. Linda and the family would like to thank the doctors and staff at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and the doctors and staff at Freeman Hospital and Oncology in Joplin for their compassionate treatment and care. Bill Trenary had many cherished friendships. Those who knew him will miss him honesty, his integrity, and his humor. He left us all with wonderful memories of a life well-lived. Family and friends will surely mill Bill dearly. He left this physical world with the family he cherished so dearly, by his side. He knows they will always love him. And they know he takes with him as much love as a family can have for another. Funeral services for Mr. Trenary will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the First Christian Church in Grove with Brother Jim Hale officiating and Dr. Wayne Shaw assisting. Interment will follow at the Buzzard Cemetery under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove Oklahoma.
