GMSA uses approximately $235,000 of Reserve Funds to reduce gas costs for customers

oklahoma, grove, winter storms

During a special meeting GMSA Board members reviewed and discussed the February invoice from Constellation, whom GMSA purchases natural gas for the gas utility.  The February bill includes the gas that was purchased during the extreme winter weather event on the spot market and identified on the invoice as 'Incremental Gas Costs'.

The Board took action to reduce the unit costs for gas from $5.58 to $2.49 for their residential, commercial and industrial customers.  GMSA will use reserve funds to pay the proportionate amount of the Incremental Gas Costs/spot market gas that was used by GMSA customers during February.  The amount that will be paid by GMSA on behalf of our customers will be approximately $235,000.
