FEATHERS -  In the Bible, feathers speak metaphorically of protection and loving care given to us by our Holy Father:

(KJV Ruth 2:12) - The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of theLord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.

(KJV Matthew 23:37) -  O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

To Native Americans, eagles and eagle feather bear certain representations. They symbolize laudable qualities and traits such as trust, strength, honor, wisdom, power and freedom.

For Indian cultures feathers in general symbolize ascension and spiritual evolution to a higher plane.  Feathers were worn by Native American Chiefs to symbolize their communication with Spirit, and to express their celestial wisdom.  Also in the Native American Indian culture, feathers represented the power of the thunder gods, along with the power of air and wind.  Spiritually, a white feather  symbolizes faith and protection.

As a Celtic symbol meaning, the feather was worn by Druids in the form of ornate feathered robes.  Celtic Druids donned these robes in ceremonies to invoke the sky gods and gain knowledge of the celestial realm.  It was believed that the feathered cloak along with the presence of the sky gods would allow the Druid to transcend the earthly plane and enter the eternal realm.
