Obituary: Ruth Josephine (O'Neill) Robinson - Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK

JANUARY 8, 1925 ~ JULY 12, 2009 (AGE 84)

Ruth Josephine Robinson, 84, of Grove, Oklahoma died at 8:26 a.m., Sunday, July 12, 2009, at Grand Lake Villa in Grove, Oklahoma. Ruth was born January 8, 1925 in Russell, Kansas to Henry E. and Susan E. (Gorham) O'Neill. She attended schools in Russell and graduated from Russell High School. Ruth had a beautiful singing voice and she attended the music conservatory in Kansas City. In 1961, Ruth married Fred Robinson in Colorado. She and Fred owned and operated R & R Iron, a wrought iron business, in Northglenn, Colorado. They retired to the Grove area in 1982. Ruth was always an active woman. She was a member of the both the Moose and Elks lodges, and the Business and Professional Women. She was also a Cherry Red for the Integris Grove General Hospital for 16 years and had served as president of the auxiliary for a number of years. Ruth enjoyed cooking and she loved to go fishing. Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Robinson on May 3, 1998; one grandson, Andy Barbour in 2003; one sister, Alice O'Neill, and three brothers, Henry O'Neill, Bernard O'Neill, and Bill O'Neill. Survivors include four children, Nancy Barbour and her husband Toby of Abbs Valley, Virginia, Barbara Harvey of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Robert Hoard of Denver, Colorado, and Sue Templeton and her husband Carl of Portland, Oregon; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, Oklahoma with Reverend David Rycroft officiating. Burial will follow in Olympus Cemetery in Grove. Pallbearers will be, Toby Barbour, Bill Bowman, Charles Hampton, Terry Jones, Dewey Pierce, and Hal Resse. Dr. Joseph Chouteau, Dr. Doug Cox, and Nick Werth will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family suggests memorials to Cherry Red Auxiliary. Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove is in charge of arrangements.
