Honorable Judge Richard James administers the City of Grove Council "Oath of Office" to Ed Trumbull, Ward 1 and Steven Thomas, Ward 2.

Trumbull is the Ward 1 incumbent Council member and Thomas is the newly elected Ward 2 Council member.  They will each serve a four-year term.

Ed began serving on the Grove City Council in April 2010, he began serving as the Vice-Mayor in 2011.  In 2017 Ed was selected to be the Mayor, and today he is still the reigning Mayor.   

In September 2020, the Oklahoma Municipal League awarded Ed with a Certificate of Achievement for obtaining the status of a 'Certified Municipal Official'.  Ed is the first City of Grove Council member to obtain such a status.

He brings over 30 years of education experience to the Council.  His education background provides him the ability and desire to perform research on items and issues presented to the City Council.  "I make decisions that are in the best interest of the City of Grove based on knowledge and not emotions."

With an education background, Ed is a good listener and understands the public and various personalities.  Ed is proud to serve as a City Council member, "Serving on the City Council is my way of giving back to the community."

Ed is an advocate supporter of Grand Lake and has volunteered for over 20 years on Blue Thumb Oklahoma, a division of the Department of Conservation that focuses on water quality.

Ivan has served as a member of the Grove City Council for almost three years.  Ivan has over 50 years experience in business management and development including management of national retail operations.  During his business management career Ivan has had the opportunity to work with personnel, budgeting, bottom lines, and strategic planning, these experiences help him made good business decisions for the City of Grove.

Ivan is a good listener and it is his desire to hear what people have to say and serve as the spokesperson for the citizens of Grove. 

Ivan's goal as a City Councilman is to promote growth and development in Grove, and enhance the Quality of Life for Grove residents.

Ivan has a lifelong commitment to Grove, he has served as the Rotary District 6110 Assistant District Governor for three years; Grove Rotary Club President for 1 year; President of the Grove Rotary Foundation; Chairman of the Trinity Baptist Council of Deacons; Grove Municipal Services Authority Trustee; Chairman of Grove Area Chamber of Commerce; and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Second Chance Pet Rescue of Grove.

Andy has over 15 years of experience in development Patricia Island Estates Development.

Andy is actively involved with the Grove community and hopes to see it continue to grow.  Andy has served on the Grove Rotary Club Board, and is currently the President Elect for the Grove Rotary Club.  He has served as the Chairman of the local YMCA board for the past two years.

Andy brings problem solving skills to City Council with his business experience working with customers on a daily basis.   He has the ability to solve problems by 'thinking outside the box'.

Marty has served on the City Council since April 2009.  His professional experience in Retail and Real Estate helps him make decisions that are in the best interest of the City of Grove.  In addition, his experience in the Ministry and Community Services, allows him to be a compassionate listener when residents have concerns and comments.

Marty is dedicated to serving his community and contributing to making Grove a better place to live, work and play.  Not only does he volunteer his time as a City Council Member, he has also served on the Grove Ministerial Alliance for the past 7 years, and as a Grove Rotary Club members for five years.

Steven took his Oath of Office and was sworn in as Ward 2 City Council member on April 14, 2021, he attended his first official meeting on April 20, 2021.

Steve brings several years of business experience to the Council.  He was a manager of a Fortune 1000 Company for several years prior to founding his own multi-state company for the past 10 years.  As a business owner, Steve understands the importance of creating plans, setting goals and achieving those goals in a timely manner.

When asked why do you want to serve as a City Councilman, Steve responded "I have always had a calling and desire to 'give back' starting with my military service to my numerous engagements, and now I am here to make a positive impact in our city government, promoting growth for families and small businesses."

Steve stays involved in the community, he has coached several youth sports for more than 15 years, has been a member of the American Legion for six years, he is currently serving as the Chapter Commander of the Grove S.A.L. squadron; he has been a member of the Veteran's Ritual Team for three years, has been a Grove Rotarian for two years, and is the youth activity leader for his church.

Steve is married and the father of five children.
