Mayor & Council adopt Annexation Plan
On November 1, 2016, the Mayor and City Council adopted an Annexation Plan to establish guidelines which mirror the Oklahoma State Statutes.
Grove is growing:
- Construction of the Cherokee Nation Casino and utility extension north of Sailboat Bridge; and
- Construction of Ferra Aerospace, the expansion of Orizon Aerostructures and continued aerospace growth near and in the Industrial Park located East of town on Highway 10; and
- New constructed Baycrest Apartment located to the West of Quail Run.
In anticipation of continued growth, it is necessary to adopt official guidelines that will facilitate the orderly and efficient inclusion of new territory in the the City of Grove.
Annexation is a statutory process that permits a municipality to extend its boundaries into 'unincorporated' areas of the county. It may be initiated by property owners or a municipality, and occurs only if the governing body adopts an ordinance 'Annexing' the area into the corporate limits after proper notice and holding a Public Hearing.
