GRAND BOBBER DROP AUGUST 13

Great Grand Bobber Drop, Saturday, August 13, 2016

Bobbers will be dropped from the air at the following locations:

  • Honey Creek
  • Sailboat Bridge
  • Shangri-La
  • Elk River

Retrieve the bobbers and turn them in at the Grand Lake Sports Center, 301 South Main Street and Grand Lake Casino Hwy 10 to win 100's of PRIZES donated by the Grand Lake areas merchant.

GRAND PRIZE IS $2,500 provided by grand lake casino

August 23, 2016 is the last day to turn in bobbers.

Final paving, striping and clean-up underway on Baycrest and Rockwood

                 2016-2017 STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS BEGIN

Weather permitting contractors will begin paving on Baycrest Thursday, August 18 and shall be complete by Friday, August 19.  To provide adequate time for the asphalt to be ready for traffic, Baycrest will be open to traffic the week of August 22.

Rockwood will be closed beginning August 29 for striping and clean-up, with weather permitting, the street will be open the next day.

Following the completion of striping Rockwood, Baycrest will be closed for 1 - 2 days for striping.

City Pool Open on weekends only starting August 13

The Grove City Pool will be open on weekends only starting August 13 through September 4.  The pool will be open on Labor Day, and will close for the season on September 6.

City hires Brent Malone as Tourism Director

Brent Malone was hired as the Convention Tourism Bureau Director.  Malone will be responsible for marketing and promoting Grove and Grand Lake as a destination point, resulting in an increase in tourism and visitors to the area.

Brent Malone hired as the first Convention and Tourism Bureau Executive Director

On July 13, 2016, the members of the Grove Convention & Tourism Bureau recommended hiring Brent Malone as the Executive Director.   Malone will be the first person to serve in this position, and he will begin on August 1, 2016.

Malone will be a city employee and will report to Bill Keefer, City Manager.  The Bureau members will provide direction on projects and budget matters.

Pre-Construction Meeting for Downtown Merchants August 3

After several years of waiting, Downtown Revitalization Phase II construction will begin in August. 

A PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING FOR DOWNTOWN BUSINESS AND PROPERTY OWNERS WILL BE HELD ON AUGUST 3 AT 4 P.M. IN ROOM 4 AT CITY HALL.

City of Grove/GMSA Surplus Auction is 10/1/16.

The City of Grove and Grove Municipal Services Authority will hold a Surplus Auction on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.  The Auction will be held at the Public Works Facility located on North Cherokee.

Directions:  Turn onto North Cherokee at 3rd Street/Highway 10 and go approximately 2.5 miles, the facility is located on the West side of N Cherokee.  If you pass the bowling alley, you have gone too far.

Grove gets 'Bigger Bang for Buck'

Grove Firemen provide a 'Crowd Pleasing' fireworks display on July 5 at Wolf Creek Park.

The City of Grove literally got a 'Bigger Bang for our Buck' when several of the Grove Firemen became certified pyrotechnicians and were able to shoot the fireworks display while thousands watched from Wolf Creek, Grand Lake, and several other areas around Grove.
